Beer |
- Beer is a fermented alcoholic
beverage brewed from malt and flavored with hops.
- In
this beverage the principal raw
material is Malted barley, Hops & yeast . Some time corn &
rice are also used for verities flavor.

- The Manufacturing process includes brewing,
fermentation, storage, filtration, pasteurization, & packaging.

- To manufacture the beer the malt is
extracted from the barley ,maize flakes and and sugar are boiled
with hops for an hour or two to extract bitterness and aroma
and this extract is called wrot .When the wrote is cold ,
yeast is injected to it and is allowed to ferment at a controlled temperature
and the beer is chilled and transported to larger vessels , and
stored at 1 degree centigrade. The matured beer is than filtered ,
bottled pasteurized and packed .

- This is produced by
fermentation by yeast. In India the beer is also classified
according to the percentage of alcohol. The mild beer mild & beer containing
5-8% & super strong 8-13% of alcohol respectively.

- The
nutritional contents such as Energy, Protein, Carbohydrate, fats
etc varies with the ingredients, used for varieties of flavors. The taste, of beer depend upon the fermentation technique, yeast
used for fermentation & filtration technique, & above all
the varieties of hops for different type of flavor & aroma. We
have yet an introduced herbal beer made of mango juice .
In India the craze for beer is on the
rise and it is being depicted as a healthy drink The annual size of
beer is around 250 million cases and it is growing at the rate
of 10-12% per year .
